Native to south America, this shrub has fragrant white flowers.
Comes into bloom at the start of the rainy season, since the flowering clusters are borne on new growth. Flowering is intermittent to year-round in well-watered gardens.Use: It is reported as a major honey plant in Bolivia and Brazil, but there is little published information on the honey other than its colour which is light.

Growing: Usually propagated from seed or from cuttings. Grows naturally on free-draining soil with a neutral to slightly acid pH in the range of 6 to 7, on sites with full to partial sun exposure. Should be pruned after flowering to keep it to a compact shape.
