Iplantz was started as a project in 2010 with the hope of creating a website where people in warm climate countries could access information on useful tropical plants. After much research, preparation, grunt work and what seemed like endless software development, this idea came to fruition in 2016 through the launch of iplantz.com.
However, the work is far from over. In fact, it is just beginning, with the task of adding content for many hundreds of plants to the website still left to do. And the pace of this task needs to increase, so that more people can be informed about the tremendous value in the plants around them, their usefulness for food, clothing, construction, natural chemicals, medicines and so much more.
In order for us to achieve this goal, we need more content creators from around the world, including writers and photographers to submit their content to the website. With your support, by way of a small donation, we can make this happen, ensuring information on useful plants is made more available to more people, potentially helping to empower change through start-up of new and sustainable enterprises based on plants, especially in developing countries where such enterprises are needed the most.
