Description

Native to tropical West Africa, this oil bearing tree

Use: The seed contain 40 to 50 % of and edible fat with a melting point between 32 to 45 C

Climate: Grows naturally in sub-humid to moderately humid tropical lowland climates, generally in areas with average annual low temperatures of 19 to 23 °C, average annual high temperatures of 30 to 34 °C and annual rainfall of 600 to 1800 mm, with a dry season of 4 to 8 months.
