Description

Originates from a region of South America that includes parts of Colombia and Ecuador. Grows in tropical and subtropical climates. Leaves and flowers are showy. Leaves are large, variegated or patterned with contrasting yellow and light green areas. Erect, wood shrub that grows to a height between 2 to 3 meters. Stems (branches) are square not rounded. Flowers are yellow in erect purple bracts and borne in showy clusters at the ends of branch tips. Fruit are narrow seedpods [SC]
