Pentas originates from tropical Africa. Leaves are dark green and arranged in an opposite pattern stems. Both leaves and stems are covered with a fine hairs. The long-tubed, star-shaped flowers are borne in dense, rounded clusters at the tips of branches. Flowers are either white, pink, red or purple, depending on the variety.
A sprawling, woody, evergreen shrub originating from tropical Africa. The plant grows to a height between 1 to 2 meters, but usually just over 1 meter. New growth is soft. Leaves are dark green, glossy, prominently veined and covered with fine, soft hairs. Flowers are small, pink, red or white and are borne in showy clusters during the warmer months from the year, from spring through autumn. Short-lived perennial, lifespan up to four years.
